Siddipet (Telangana), Jan 11 (UNI) In a tragic incident, five youths drowned in Kondapochamma Sagar Dam of Markuk Mandal in Siddipet district on Saturday.

According to police, a group of seven youths from Hyderabad had gone to the dam for an outing and decided to swim in the dam. However, five of them were drowned while two managed to swim to safety and alerted the authorities.

Upon receiving information, police reached the spot and recovered the bodies of the deceased. They were identified as Dhanush (20), Lohit (Lucky) (17), Cheekatla Dineshwar (17), Srinivas (19), and Jatin (17).

A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway, police added.
